EPL Transfers: William Gallas to Tottenham Hotspurs from Arsenal!

Gallas, a highly controversial figure both for the French national side as well during his time at the premiership has done his reputation no good by agreeing to switch loyalties from Arsenal to their fierce north London rivals Tottenham. In reports coming from top british dailies, it is understood that Gallas would be signing a one year deal at White Hart Lane subject to a medical.

With a heated rivalry between the two north London clubs , it is of no doubt that he would soon replace Adebayor as the public enemy no 1 for the emirates faithful .

William Gallas and Arsene Wenger: Much love lost

Gallas had been offered a one year deal by Wenger this summer with substantial pay cut which was not accepted by the Frenchman. As a result, Wenger released him and made him a free agent which would aid him in finding a new club. But his excessive wage demands have been a hindrance for most clubs in securing his signature.

Harry Redknapp openly understands the problems his team faces at the heart of the defence. With two experienced defenders in Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate injured, much pressure is on Michael Dawson. William Gallas, even being temperamental has been a prolific player both for Chelsea as well as for Arsenal, leading the latter at one point of time. But his off and on field antics have done his career much harm.

Already a highly hated figure at Stamford Bridge, now he would have to face the verbal abuses from the Emirates faithful come November 21 when Tottenham visit Arsenal.
