Europa League draw: Manchester United to meet Liverpool in Round of 16, Spurs draw Dortmund
After the completion of the Round of 32 matches in the Europa League, the stage is set for the Round of 16. The pre-quarter finals sees four teams from La Liga and three from the Premier League.
In what is arguably the biggest clash of this round, Manchester United were drawn against Liverpool with the first leg to be played at Anfield. Liverpool had got past Augsburg by the skin of their teeth in a 1-0 aggregate win in the previous round while Manchester United initially struggled to get past Midtjylland before scoring for fun towards the end of the game to win the tie with a 6-3 aggregate scoreline.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund were drawn against Tottenham Hotspur with the first leg to be played at Signal Iduna Park. Dortmund had beaten Porto in both legs to win the tie 3-0 on aggregate while Tottenham were made to work in the first leg before beating Fiorentina 3-0 in the second leg to advance.
Athletic Bilbao will play Valencia in an all-Spanish affair while Bayer Leverkusen will meet Villarreal.
