Ex-Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes fails medical at AS Monaco; deal called off

Victor Valdes failed his medical at Monaco
Ex-Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes failed his medical earlier today at AS Monaco as a result of which the deal was called off by the French club.
"He is injured and will not come here," said Monaco's vice-president Vadim Vasyliev.
Valdes, who had suffered a knee injury in March had announced that he wont be renewing his contract with Barcelona and left at the end of the 2013/14 season after spending twelve years with the Catalan giants.
AS Monaco had agreed terms with him, but him failing his medical has caused the deal to be called off.
The Spaniard is currently a free agent and will have to get fit as soon as possible to attract the interest of top football clubs. The 32 year old made 535 appearances for the Catalan giants and was also the part of the Spanish side which won the World Cup in 2010 and the Euros in 2012.
Barcelona replaced both him and the other departing goalkeeper Jose Pinto by signing Germany's Marc- Andre Ter Stegen and Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.
