Neymar Jr might return to the Camp Nou this summer.

What's the story?

La Liga president Javier Tebas has insisted that he'd prefer that Neymar Jr doesn't return to Barcelona amid the speculations linking the Brazilian with a return to the Camp Nou.

In case you didn't know..

Having enjoyed four successful seasons with the Catalan giants, Neymar sealed his big-money Paris Saint-Germain move in 2017, as the Parisians paid a massive fee of €222M to take him away to the Parc des Princes.

During his stint at PSG, the Brazilian has helped the French giants claim two successive Ligue 1 titles, scoring dozens of goals in the run. However, the 27-year-old has failed to deliver on the European front as PSG still awaits their maiden UEFA Champions League title despite spending a massive amount on transfers in the past decade.

Neymar has been subject to transfer speculation linking him with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and former club FC Barcelona.

The heart of the matter

Talking about the Brazilian's potential return to the Spanish league, La Liga president Javier Tebas said:

"I'd rather Neymar didn't come to LaLiga because he's not a good example. [He'd only be good for the league] if he behaves better,"
"He can be a great player, but behaviour is also very important in terms of the values we try to put across.
"We always have to bring great players to LaLiga, but in Neymar's case, this behaviour isn't good for the competition because it's about if the player has done this or that.
"We've worked hard at LaLiga to maintain [certain] values and we don't want to change this image."

Sharing his concern about the financial fair play rules restricting the Catalans to bring Neymar back, Tebas said:

"To be able to afford this signing while complying with financial fair play, Barcelona would have to let another player go. It will depend on the price,"

What's next?

Having been surrounded by numerous transfer speculations lately, it still remains to be seen where will Neymar play his football next season.
