J-League club FC Tokyo confirmed a bid received from Chelsea FC for striker Yoshinori Muto, according to Japanese news agency Kyodo News. The 22-year-old was among the J-league’s top XI in 2014 having scored 13 times in 33 games. Additionally, he has won 11 caps for the national team. His stint with the Japanese squad included a run in the Asian Cup playing alongside the likes of Shinji Kagawa and Keisuke Honda.

Muto said he was flattered by the interest from a high profile club but he hasn’t yet reached a decision on the offer. There has been no official confirmation on the total valuation of the bid, but if Muto decides to accept the terms, it would look like his likely destination in the summer.

The move has come in the aftermath of another Japanese association for the club in the shape of a shirt sponsorship deal with Yokohama Rubber.
