PSV Eindhoven v FC Zürich: Group A - UEFA Europa League
FC Zurich and Lugano square off in the Swiss Super League on Monday

FC Zurich and Lugano go head-to-head at the Letzigrund Stadium in the penultimate round of the 2023-24 Swiss Super League campaign on Monday. Ricardo Moniz’s men are in a two-horse race with St. Gallen for the UEFA Europa Conference League qualification spot and will be looking to pick up a third win on the spin.

FC Zurich picked up three huge points in their bid for a place in Europe as they fought back from behind to claim a 2-1 victory over Servette last Wednesday.

Before that, Moniz’s side snapped their run of three consecutive defeats on May 12 courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Winterthur at the Stadion Schützenwiese.

This upturn in form has seen Zurich surge to fourth place in the Super League table, just above fifth-placed St. Gallen outside the Conference League playoff spot on goal difference.

Elsewhere, Lugano turned in another performance of the highest quality last time out as they cruised to a 4-2 victory over Winterthur.

Mattia Croci-Torti’s men have now won all but one of their last six matches across all competitions, including a 2-0 victory over FC Sion in the Swiss Cup semi-finals on April 27.

With 65 points from 36 matches, Lugano are currently second in the league table, just four points above third-placed Servette heading into the final two games.
