Fernando Torres's unlucky streak continues

Bayern Muenchen v Chelsea - UEFA Super Cup

Fernando Torres – Plain unlucky?

Fernando Torres is not normally someone I would consider an unlucky individual. Having won the World Cup, Champions League, Europa League and European Championships, he is one of the richest and most decorated footballers in the world.

Despite being out of form he has won three trophies at Chelsea but it would be hard to argue he has not been unlucky in his search for form.

After starting unfit and out of form at the start of the 2011 season he started showing some promise, scoring twice against Swansea. He was back to the sharp, motivated and confident player.

Then boom one rash challenge and he is banned for three games, his confidence goes and he loses his place in the team.

He never really recovered that season but was able to contribute as a substitute in the Champions League against Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

Now under Mourinho he was showing fitness, hunger and form, he survives a threat of a 4 match ban only to get injured for three weeks with ligament damage.

Lets hope his luck will turn he will make a quick recovery and will come back in the same form.
