FIFA 14: Top 5 absurd player ratings

Nemanja Vidic

The FIFA franchise is one of the most popular games released by EA Sports every year, and FIFA 14 has turned out to be the same. GTA V, which was released amidst much fanfare, was toppled off the top of the sales charts in the UK. That says a lot as to how much gamers love playing the game!

However, in FIFA 14, EA Sports seems to have come up with some absurd player ratings, which make no sense. We look at the 5 of the worst!

5. Nemanja Vidic

Nemanja Vidic

He may be the captain of Manchester United, but he’s definitely not worth being rated 87. Vidic, has, since the 2011-2012 season, appeared in very few matches for Manchester United.

Vidic, according to EA then, is equivalent to the world’s most expensive player, Gareth Bale!

Even Manchester United fans would agree that Vidic, for all his accomplishments with the club, no longer deserves a rating of 87, with such a less number of appearances. A couple of years ago, he may have deserved it, but not anymore!

4. Luka Modric

Another such shocking player rating given by EA Sports was for Luka Modric. A rating of 85 is not something you would associate with him!

For those who may argue otherwise, it is important to note that in spite of Real Madrid having a good season, in terms of reaching the last 4 in the Champions League and finishing 2nd in La Liga, Modric’s contribution to the cause has only been 3 goals.

Remember, this is a league in which Real Madrid and Barcelona score goals for fun, with almost all the players remotely close to the opposition’s goal score goals. But in 33 matches in which he appeared, he only managed those 3.

I am sure Karim Benzema would have something to say if told that Modric is deemed to be as good as him!

3. Luis Suarez and Robert Lewandowski

Luis Suarez

The top 2 players in the world are undoubtedly Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. But most people would agree that Luis Suarez and Robert Lewandowski would be very close contenders for the spot behind them.

However, it seems EA Sports does not agree with the majority of the football fans all over the world. Only that can explain why they have placed Suarez and Lewandowski as low as 33 and 35 respectively in the top 50 players.

Just to jog your memory, Suarez finished second to Robin van Persie in the race for the golden boot in the EPL while Lewandowski scored 2 more goals than Radamel Falcao, who’s at No. 4 in the list!

2. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

Don’t worry! I am not going to say that they don’t deserve to be in the top 2 places! However, their rating in relation to others is a little disturbing.

Messi is rated 94 while Ronaldo is rated 92, which seems to be a fair difference between the two. But what rankles is the fact that Frank Ribery and Falcao are rated 90. Which means, the difference between these two to Ronaldo is the same as the difference between Ronaldo-Messi. And that definitely does not make sense! Surely, neither Ribery nor Falcao is that good!

If Messi and Ronaldo had been given ratings like 97 and 95 respectively, then the ratings of Ribery and Falcao would have made more sense!

1. Neymar

Neymar

Neymar

Perhaps the most shocking exclusion from the Top 50 best players in EA Sports FIFA 14 has to be Neymar. The young Brazilian has been in the limelight for more than 3 years now, and he is widely regarded as the next big thing.

Aside from the fact that he had already scored more than a 100 goals, he is also considered to the game changer for Brazil in next year’ s World Cup. No wonder Barcelona moved in to sign him early in the transfer window!

S0, having Sergio Busquets ahead of Neymar is something that no logic can support! Even words like experience, achievements, etc won’t cut it to explain this farce!
