PSG were exceptional last season once again, conquering the domestic league and cups. PSG won 4 titles last season, but their top priority was a good performance in Europe, at which they failed.

The French champions crashed out in the quarters to Manchester City, and that’s the main reason for Laurent Blanc’s departure from the club. In came 3 time Europa League winner, Unai Emery, who’ll hope to achieve Europe’s top prize. The side from Paris are embarking on a new and exciting chapter.

Let’s take a look at the predicted PSG player ratings in FIFA 17:

#1 Goalkeepers and defenders

PSG’s skipper, Thiago Silva, is one of the best defenders in the world

Kevin Trapp: 82 → 84

The German became PSG’s No. 1, ahead of Sirigu, featuring in almost all of PSG’s matches at home and in Europe. The 26-year old kept 23 clean sheets and conceded only 25 goals in all competitions.

His performances last season should secure a starting spot and an increased rating.

Salvator Sirigu: 82 81

The Italian fell down the pecking order, making just 3 appearances in the season. Sirigu still has a lot to offer and needs to hang on to whatever limited opportunities comes along his way.

He’ll probably get a downgrade due to limited match time.

Maxwell: 79 81

The Brazilian is probably the most underrated left-back and had a good season at Parc Des Prices last year. He is solid in his defensive duties and is very effective on in attacks. He might be rewarded for a good season with a +2.

Kurzawa: 80 82

The Frenchman got limited time under his belt but impressed whenever he was given a chance. He scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists in just 20 appearances all season.

He’s started this season well too, with 2 goals in 2 matches, and should get a +2 bump.

David Luiz: 83 84

The most expensive defender in the world had an excellent season last time around, winning 4 trophies. He was solid at the back, and has brilliant aerial abilities, making him a huge goal threat from set-pieces.

The Brazilian might get a slight increase of 1 point.

Thiago Silva: 88 88

One of the best central defenders in the world, the PSG captain is the core of their defence. The highest rated defender in FIFA 16 did no harm to his 88 rating last season, leading PSG to 4 titles last season.

Silva is solid at the back, and should retain his 88 rating.

#2 Midfielders

Di Maria had an exceptional debut season at PSG

Lucas Moura: 82 83

Lucas Moura was sensational in Ligue 1 scoring 11 goals and 5 assists. However, he couldn’t really replicate his league form in the Champions League, where PSG were knocked out by Manchester City.

Lucas is a constant threat to the goal, and extremely pacey. He should get an increase for his exploits in the French League.

Hatem Ben Arfa: 81 83

PSG’s new signing from Nice, Ben Arfa was exceptional last season scoring 17 goals from his midfield role. He has a good passing range to pick out teammates and has 6 assists to show for it.

The former Newcastle man will be an exciting prospect at PSG, and expect bigger things from him in Ligue 1 and Champions’ League.

Grzegorz Krychowiak: 82 83

PSG’s new Polish recruit from Sevilla, Krychowiak is a solid central defensive midfielder and had an outstanding season last year with club and his country, Poland, at Euro 2016.

The Polish midfielder provides a protective screen to the back four and is going to be an excellent signing for PSG. Good performances last season will surely get him an 83 rating.

Marco Veratti: 84 85

Verratti had a great season, attracting serious interest from Europe’s big clubs but PSG would not let him go. At just 23, he is one of the fastest emerging centre-mid, and did his development no harm with a good showing last season, picking up 4 trophies along the way.

It will be interesting to see how PSG new boss, Unai Emery, capitalizes on his incredible potential.

Blaise Matuidi: 84 86

Matuidi had one of his best seasons’ ever, playing some brilliant football for both his club and country. 4 trophies with the club, and runners-up with France at Euro 2016, and Matuidi played a vital role in it.

He is solid at central mid, and should surely get an 86.

Angel Di Maria: 86 88

Di Maria was in scintillating form at PSG last season, after a disastrous one-year spell at Old Trafford. He showed his exceptional class once again, scoring 10 goals and 18 assists in Ligue 1.

He was also one of PSG’s best player at Champions League, scoring 3 goals and 2 assists, but couldn’t prevent his side’s exit in the quarters. The Argentine is definitely in the world’s top 10 footballers, and should get an 88, if not more.

Edinson Cavani: 85 86

The Uruguayan striker will finally have his wish of playing as the main striker come true this season, after Ibrahimovic’s departure to Man United.

He scored 19 goals last season, and will spearhead PSG’s attack this season. Deserves to be 86 rated.

Jese Rodriguez: 78 79

The Real Madrid academy’s graduate is another one of PSG’s new signing. He’s shown sparks of brilliance in the limited opportunities he got, scoring 6 goals and 6 assists. The young Spaniard is surely an exciting prospect, and can develop into a world-class player under the right manager.

With Unai Emery at the helm, Jese has an excellent manager to help him realise his potential. The 23-year should get an upgrade in FIFA’s latest.

Jean Kevin Augustin: 69 72

The 19-year old does have the talent but is going to find it hard to break into the first-team.
