The African side looked meagre on the attack without Mohamed Salah's services

While there were a lot of hits and misses by the Uruguayan attack forces, their defence remained solid throughout the same. The fact that Egypt could not get a single corner in the game is a testament to the same.

Salah's absence on the pitch had a huge role to play in Egypt's lacklustre attack, but the defensive show put up by Uruguay also deserved commendation on the day.

Their performance was disciplined as well, with no player in a blue shirt being booked on the day.
