Argentine club Verez Sarsfield has today confirmed on their website that they have parted with the 23 year old lanky midfielder Ricky Alvarez. The Argentine play maker has decided to join the Italian giants Inter Milan in a deal that will see Inter pay 11 million Euros for his services.
Inter have acquired 90 per cent of the player’s economical rights and can purchase the remaining 10 per cent for a fee of €1m when Alvarez has made 80 first team appearances for the Nerazzurris .The new Inter coach Gian Piero Gasperini had already shown his willingness for the player commenting –“Alvarez is a great player. If he came to Inter, he’d be an important reinforcement”. With Inter still unsure whether their star midfielder Wesley Sneijder wants to remain at the club or not this comes as a good move.
After a long summer of speculation that saw the player being linked with host of European clubs including Arsenal in particular the deal has finally concluded. It will be a bitter pill for Arsenal fans to swallow seeing another of their potential signing being snatched away due to some or the other inadequacy .The player had shown his intent for a move to Arsenal with him clearing his intention on his twitter page .But the financial part of the deal could not be fulfilled .
The deal breaker this time was supposed to be the wage demands of the player who now will be taking home approximately 1.8 million Euros per year at Inter .Arsenal who are looking for reinforcement with a view to freshen the squad plus provide back up for Samir Nasri who seems like looking for greener pastures away from London Conley are left with work to be done .
