At 34 years of age, Cristiano Ronaldo is still going strong, and even in a season which has been below par by his Herculean standards, he has still achieved incredible things.

From anecdotes by his old Manchester United teammates, it is clear that even at a young age, Ronaldo wanted to be the best player in the world.

He became one of the best players in the world, but that wasn't enough and his obsession has metamorphosed into fighting to become the greatest player of all time.

Whilst many regard Lionel Messi as superior, Ronaldo has equal claimant to the prize and his staggering bounty of records are one indicator of that.

Due to playing at such an incredibly high standard of football so consistently over the last decade or so, Ronaldo has broken countless footballing records.

This article will look through four incredible records which only Cristiano Ronaldo possesses.

#1 Winning the Serie A, La Liga and Premier League

In the summer of 2018, Ronaldo shocked the footballing world by leaving Real Madrid for Juventus.

Whilst the prospect of Ronaldo leaving was becoming more likely due to behind-the-scenes drama, no one could actually quite believe it.

He eventually moved to Juventus in the Serie A, which would subsequently be the third of the top five European leagues he would play in.

Unlike his arch-rival Messi, Ronaldo prides himself on testing himself in new environments, as has done in England, Spain and now Italy.

In his first season in Italy, Ronaldo has helped Juventus to another league title, and in the process became the first player in history to win the Serie A, La Liga and the English Premier League.

This is a great record, especially as it gives him bragging rights over Messi, who has never left La Liga, or even Barcelona for that matter.

#2 Player of the year in Serie A, La Liga and Premier League

Winning titles for one's team is the ultimate goal for any footballer, and Ronaldo would probably say the same if you asked him.

However, individual awards are also widely coveted by all footballers, and whilst they are largely a dream for most, for others, they are something they compete for every year.

For his title winning exploits with Manchester United in the 2006-07 season, Ronaldo won his first Player of the Year taward.

Since then, the Portuguese maestro has gone on to win Player of the Year awards in La Liga and this season in the Serie A.

In winning the Player of the Year award in the Serie A this season, Ronaldo became the first player in history to be crowned the Player of the Year in England, Spain, and Italy's top division.

This is a fantastic record as not only does it show that Ronaldo is brave enough to move to different leagues, it also indicates that his brilliance isn't dependent on a system or a team.

#3 Scoring at least 15 goals in 3 Champions League seasons

It is without a question that the Champions League is Ronaldo's favourite competiton in football.

While others prefer the familiar comforts of league football, Ronaldo clearly loves facing off against the best teams in Europe without any fear.

Even in the 2018-19 season, which saw his Juventus team lose in the quarter-finals, he still scored all five of his side's knockout stage goals.

His goalscoring prowess in the Champions League is unmatched. In the 2013-14 season, Ronaldo became the first player to score at least 15 goals in a single Champions League campaign by scoring a stunning 17 goals.

If that wasn't enough and he would go on to score 16 Champions League goals in the 2015-16 season and 15 goals in the 2017-18 season.

The absurdity of this record is that no one else has even had a single season of scoring 15 goals in a single Champions League edition, while Ronaldo has done it on three separate ocassions.

#4 Most expensive player over the age of 30

When Ronaldo decided to leave Real Madrid last summer, the whole world couldn't quite believe it.

Whilst Real Madrid tried to put on a brave face about the whole affair, it is clear they have missed him desperately this season.

Despite being 33 at the time of joining Juventus, everyone knew that the Portuguese legend would not come cheap.

Earlier in his career, Ronaldo famously broke the transfer record in 2009 when joining Real Madrid for £80 million from Manchester United. And at 33, he broke another record by joining the Italian giants for €112 million, thereby becoming the most expensive player in their 30s.

Why this record is so impressive is that at his age, most players consider retirement or have lost a huge chunk of their monetary worth.

Not Ronaldo though, and this record breaking figure of being the most expensive player over 30 is a testament to how good he still is.
