Fantasy Premier League Tips: 5 Bargain buys in Midfield

Nathan Redmond
Nathan Redmond will look to take his game to the next level this season

The Premier League is only a few days away and Fantasy Premier League managers are busy finalising their FPL teams.

With the arrival of football masterminds like Pep Guardiola and Antonio Conte, the league has become more exciting and competitive. Fantasy Premier League Managers are in a state of confusion over which players to chose to their team.

The midfield is always a source of points for FPL managers and there are quality midfielders like Eden Hazard, Alexis Sanchez, Kevin De Bruyne, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Dele Alli, Philippe Coutinho who you want to have in your team but with a budget of only £100m for 15 players, it is impossible to pick every quality player in the league.

You'll have to scout for cheap and players who could prove to be a bargain.

Here are 5 midfielders who could be incredible value on FPL.

#5 Nathan Redmond - £6.0m

Redmond was bought by Southampton from Norwich for a fee of £12 Million. The young English winger was bought by the Saints as a replacement for Sadio Mane, who left for Liverpool. Mane himself was a key player for Southampton and Redmond, who is bought as the replacement for the Senegalese winger, will also be an important player for the Saints.

The 22-year-old scored six and assisted four goals for Norwich, who got relegated, last season. Involvement in ten goals for a relegated side is a really good stat.

The young winger is rated at £6.0m on FPL and is picked by 3.8% of the FPL team owners, the last time we checked.

#4 Bojan Krkic - £6.0m

Bojan
Bojan can be vital if he can stay injury-free

The Spanish attacker was Stoke's key player last season and could do it again this season. Bojan had a good season last time despite suffering injuries.

The youngster scored seven goals and assisted two for his club. Stoke does not have a consistent goalscoring striker and there are chances that Bojan might be played upfront by Mark Hughes.

The attacker is rated at £6.0m on FPL and could be a great bargain buy this season. The former Barcelona man is owned by only 2.4% of the FPL managers and hence is a unique pick.

#3 Gerard Deulofeu - £6.5m

Gerard Deulofeu
Gerard Deulofeu could be a hit-or-miss, but looks like an excellent FPL bargain

Deulofeu and Everton did not have a good season last time, but the Merseyside club has shown it's ambition by appointing Ronald Koeman as their new manager. The former Southampton manager is expected to improve Everton's performance and Deulofeu could be one player who could shine under the Dutchman.

The young Spaniard, whose natural position is on the wing, played as a false nine in Everton's first few pre-season games under Koeman and, with Romelu Lukaku's future at Everton uncertain, there are chances that Deulofeu could often play as a false nine for Everton in the League too.

The former Barcelona youngster is rated at £6.5m on FPL. Despite not having a good season last time, Deulofeu scored two goals and also assisted nine for Everton.

Everton under Ronald Koeman is a team to watch out for and Deulofeu might be their key man next season.

#2 Erik Lamela - £7.0m

Erik Lamela
Lamela had an impressive season last year

Erik Lamela had a very slow start to his Tottenham career in the 2013/14 season, but his form improved and played an important role in Spurs' title challenging run last season.

Lamela scored five and assisted nine goals for Spurs last season but his performances never got due the credit as Dele Alli and Harry Kane were under the spotlight. Most of the FPL players expect Dele Alli and Harry Kane to shine for Spurs, they may have overseen Erik Lamela.

The Argentinean is rated at just £7.0m, which is a bargain as he has the ability to score and assist. When other top midfielders are only available at a minimum price of 8.0, Lamela at 7.0 could be the bargain of the season.

#1 Jordan Ibe - £5.5m

Jordan Ibe
Ibe looks like the best bargain buy considering his potential

The young English winger moved to Bournemouth from Liverpool for a club record fee of 15 Million this summer. Ibe, despite showing his talents, did not get proper playing time at Liverpool and now he has joined Bournemouth with the hope of being on the field for more time.

The fact that Bournemouth paid a club record fee for the youngster shows that manager, Eddie Howe, has Ibe as a key part of his plans for next season. The English winger is expected to be a regular starter for Bournemouth next season. Ibe managed to score one and assist three goals last season for Liverpool in the league despite only playing very few minutes for the club.

The 20-year-old is rated at £5.5m on FPL and could be a huge bargain this season.

These are just five players who could be great bargain buys, but there are a few more midfielders who could also fetch you points at low costs. Players like Sofiane Feghouli (Rated at £5.5), N'Golo Kanté (Rated at £5.0), Andros Townsend (Rated at £6.5), Robert Snodgrass (Rated at £5.5), Wahbi Khazri (Rate at £6.5) are some other bargain options, but some of these players, like Kante, seldom assist or score goals, or in the fringes of the playing XI.
