#3 Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton's league position of 16 does no justice to the talent and technical ability of the side. Graham Potter's team will aim to deliver on their immense potential and have a successful campaign this time around. They also have the ideal set of fixtures to start their season, facing just two of last season's top eight teams in their first eight games while also taking on all three promoted sides.

They'll expect better performances from strikers Neal Maupay (BHA) (FWD) (£6.5 m) and Danny Welbeck (BHA) (FWD) (£6.0 m) after underperforming their xG considerably last season. The xPTS (expected points) stat placed Brighton fifth last season, highlighting their immense potential.

Their defensive stats were also brilliant last season. They ranked third behind Chelsea and Manchester City according to the xGA stat and were unlucky not to keep more clean sheets.

Budget FPL goalkeeper Robert Sanchez (BHA) (GK) (£4.5 m) has proved to be a popular option among FPL managers, and so have other defensive assets. If their attackers also fire, Brighton and FPL managers who've backed them could have a great season.

#2 West Ham United

Had Antonio stayed injury-free, he could've had an even more successful FPL campaign
Had Antonio stayed injury-free, he could've had an even more successful FPL campaign

West Ham United had a dream PL 20/21 season, where they finished sixth, even emerging as a top-four contender at one point. FPL managers made the most of the team's budget FPL assets, with Aaron Cresswell (WHU) (DEF) (£5.5 m), Vladimir Coufal (WHU) (DEF) (£5.0 m), and Michail Antonio (WHU) (FWD) (£7.5 m) offering great value.

Despite not being priced as kindly this season, West Ham should be on most FPL managers' radar as they look to replicate the form they showed last season. With most of their players fully fit ahead of this campaign, David Moyes' side look like a well-knit, compact unit that can beat any opposition.

They also have a good run of fixtures to start their season with only two games scoring four or above in the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR). Compared to the other teams on this list, West Ham are a side more likely to capitalize on this favorable fixture run.

While there could be some rotation as they take part in the Europa League, that shouldn't deter FPL managers from investing in players like Coufal and Antonio. Expect some explosive FPL hauls from the Hammers this season.

#1 Everton

What change can Rafa Benitez bring at Everton?
What change can Rafa Benitez bring at Everton?

Rafael Benitez will manage the Everton side and he'll have a nice run of fixtures to start things off. Everton face just one out of last season's top eight teams in their first ten matches.

The Merseyside club made an excellent start to the 20/21 season, but fizzled out after a string of poor performances at home.

They'll look to set their home record right this season, and the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin (EVE) (FWD) (£8.0 m), Richarlison (EVE) (FWD) (£7.5 m), and Lucas Digne (EVE) (DEF) (£5.5 m) will be crucial to their chances.

Rafa Benitez will want to strengthen Everton's defense ahead of the new season. Considering the new signings they're planning, Everton should become a force to reckon with ahead of the season.

The high points potential that their mid-priced FPL assets offer, combined with the relatively easier opening fixtures, makes Everton a team to target FPL managers.
