Frank Lampard turns down Chinese club

Stoke City v Chelsea - Premier League

Chinese Super League club Guizhou Renhe have offered Chelsea veteran Frank Lampard, a £20million offer only for him to turn his back on them. The deal would have seen him join the likes of his former teammates, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka in China.

The mega rich club were ready to land the 34-year-old England international on a 2-year deal, with a reported weekly pay of £250,000. Lampard, whose contract with Chelsea comes to a close in the summer, will become a free agent.

Despite the lucrative offer, Lampard was not tempted to join the Chinese club. Although Guizhou Renhe stated that the Englishman did agree to the deal, and would become captain, on their website. A Chinese official has said “The contract offered to Lampard was amazing and he would have been treated like a God out there. It would have been a great adventure for him.”

Lampard is also under the radar of other teams like LA Galaxy, Manchester United, Juventus, Lazio, Monaco and Fiorentina
