Gareth Barry charged by FA for misconduct

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND – NOVEMBER 05: Gareth Barry of Manchester City faces the media during a press conference at the Carrington Training Ground on November 5, 2012 in Manchester, England.

The Independent have stated that Manchester City’s English midfielder Gareth Barry has been charged by the FA for his misconduct with the officials during the Manchester derby this past Sunday.

He has been charged with breaching Rule E3 by using abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official. Barry has been given until 4 pm on Thursday to respond to this charge.

This comes after a City fan was revoked of his season ticket at the Etihad for throwing a coin at Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand during the match. United won the match 3-2 after club top scorer Robin van Persie scored in injury time with a free-kick.
