Lionel Messi missed Barcelona’s eighth penalty of this season

Barcelona put in a dominant display against Getafe winning 6-0 at Camp Nou. However, the only sour point of the day was the fact that Lionel Messi and Barcelona missed another penalty.

The Argentine captain has now missed 4 of the 7 penalties he has taken.

He is not the only one to blame however as his attacking partners Luis Suarez and Neymar have fared no better.

When Pique was asked whether he was worried about Barcelona’s poor conversion rate, he told Canal Plus:

"In important games, when things are on the line and we have to score them, we will score them."

Barcelona’s win against Getafe meant that the Catalans have now gone on a 37 match unbeaten run in all competitions.

"We always try to play at our best," Pique said. "We started very well today, in the first 20-25 minutes we had some great moments. We are getting closer all the time to what we want to achieve. We try and do the best possible.

"We've been many years together, many important players. We understand each other well, can play passes sometimes without looking, but we want to keep improving and at end of the season to win something."

Pique who is a regular on twitter and social media with his Periscope app was asked if he was fazed by criticism to his social media activities for which he replied:

"Not at all"

Luis Enrique says Atletico Madrid are Barcelona’s closest rivals

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has claimed that he is more worried by Diego Simeone’s team Atletico Madrid than their great rivals Real Madrid. Barcelona dished out a commanding performance against Getafe yesterday to record an easy 6-0 victory at home.

Real Madrid lie 15 points behind Barcelona but a win tonight against Las Palmas will take them twelve points behind the league leaders. However, Zinedine Zidane, the Real Madrid manager has himself stated that his side are unlikely to triumph domestically.

Barcelona's closest challengers are Atletico Madrid who are eight points behind and Enrique did not miss out on an opportunity to rub some salt into Real Madrid’s wounds.

"Our closest rivals are Atletico, who are second; then Madrid, who are third," he told reporters in a press conference.

"We have a lead that we have earned, but we still have a lot of work to do."
