Gerard Pique In high Sp(ir)it

After so much hullabaloo surrounding Fabregas being forced to wear a Barcelona jersey at the Spanish team’s celebration party I felt like it was all being blown out of proportion. These are the guys who won the biggest trophy in the world and were celebrating it and were pretty much in high spirits. But the media took no pointer on that and built a nice story to fan the flames of the rumors surrounding Fabregas ’s status as an arsenal player.

Everybody went berserk with the picture and some even loathed the two Catalan players who forced Fabregas to wear the jersey i.e. Pique and Puyol. It was more of a practical joke and at the time none of them were pretty much in control of their senses. But the rumors did circulate and Fabregas’s father had to do an interview quashing the rumors. Arsenal supporters were enraged as they have been throughout this summer watching the Catalan giants audaciously tapping their captain openly once again.

Nonetheless this time round the gunners look more than determined to keep their captain and have valiantly fended off all the attempts of Barcelona.

But just to prove the point a little more, I did a little research and came up with this video pertaining to the same celebrations.

This shows how Gerard Pique under the “influence” spits on the former Valencia president Pedro Cortes. The players seem to have a good laugh while the ignorant old man is happy with his country’s success. This can still be seen as a disgrace for the country and the club Barcelona but we need to understand that we need to let them go and enjoy their success anyway they like. They are hardly at fault in these things due to the obvious reasons but still there should be a line. And it’s not right on media’s part that they keep hounding the players and exaggerate and misinterpret things done by players.

P.S. Pique Will perhaps be let off because he hardly seemed to know what was going on, maybe that’s why they say that success is a little hard to swallow as Pique just spit it out !
