Bayern Munich's Toni Kroos confirms move to Real Madrid

Toni Kroos joins European champions Real Madrid

Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has confirmed his move to European champions Real Madrid after a successful World Cup campaign with Germany.

Germany beat Argentina in the 2014 World Cup final 1-0 with his Bayern teammate Mario Gotze scoring the winner. Kroos played a crucial role in Germany’s World Cup triumph with 2 goal and 4 assists (highest in the tournament).

Kroos: Two dreams achieved

Speaking after the final Toni Kroos said “We’ve finished the World Cup in the best way possible. Now I’m going to Madrid, so that’s two dreams achieved."

The 24-year old was heavily linked to a move to Manchester United, previously stalked by former manager David Moyes and the incoming Louis Van Gaal. But the Dutch coach pulled the plug on the Kroos deal bringing an end to a year-long transfer saga.

Kroos started every match of Germany’s World Cup campaign and kept the ball ticking in Joachim Low’s superstar filled midfield.

He is touted to earn £160,000 a week in wages over 5 years in the £20 million deal.

Carlo Ancelotti, the Real Madrid coach who managed the team to a long-awaited 10th European title last season will have a flurry of midfield talent at his disposal and it will be curious to see where Kroos will fit in.
