The last quarter-finals match in this season Copa del Rey competition sees Girona hosting Real Madrid at the Montilivi in the second leg of the tie. The first leg ended with Los Blancos winning 4-2, courtesy of a brace from Sergio Ramos and a goal each from Lucas Vasquez and Karim Benzema.
The Catalan club is winless in their last 10 matches and that has seen them hovering just over the bottom three. Los Blancos have won five of their last six matches and will be looking to play the semi-finals for the first time since 2014. Real Madrid won 4-1 on their last visit to Girona in the league back in August.
Girona is likely to prioritise the La Liga more than the Copa del Rey and is likely to rest a number of key players including their top scorer Christian Stuani. Bernardo Espinosa is expected to feature for the Catalan club after being given the marching orders in the last league match which makes him ineligible for the next league match.
After an injury scare, Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is expected to be fit for the second leg of the fixture. Raphael Varane is another player who will most certainly start the tie after being ineligible for the next league match due to suspension. Marco Asensio has returned to training but is unlikely to feature while Isco and Gareth Bale are likely to start for the Los Blancos.
