What’s the story?

A newly compiled data has added another layer to the longstanding debate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. According to GiveMeSport, Messi has left Ronaldo way behind in terms of both individual and collective achievements at their 32nd birthdays.

In case you didn’t know…

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have been a hot topic of discussion over the last decade or so. Both of them have dominated the world of football like no one ever could imagine, winning 10 of the last 11 Ballon d’Ors in total.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo in the last few years, has edged out Lionel Messi in terms of both of individual and collective achievements. Ronaldo added two Ballon d’Or accolades to his name in the last three years, while Messi last won the most prestigious personal award back in 2015, on the back of a treble winning season with Barcelona. The Portuguese talisman has also won three Champions League in the last four years, overtaking Lionel Messi’s tally of 4 Champions League gold medal with Barcelona.

Meanwhile, despite enduring Champions League failures for the last four years, Messi’s individual achievements hadn’t been bad either. The Barcelona ace has managed to win three successive European Golden Shoe in the last three seasons, taking his count to a record 6.

However, in terms of international glory, Ronaldo has added another feather to his already well decorated hat by winning the inaugural UEFA Nations League crown.
