What's the news?

Chelsea's new striker, Gonzalo Higuain claims the biggest difference that he felt since moving from Italy to England is the treatment he receives from opposition defenders.

In case you didn't know...

Chelsea signed the Juventus striker, Gonzalo Higuain on loan for the remainder of the season, which could even be extended or made permanent in the summer for £31.3 million.

The 31-year-old already proved his worth in Serie A and La Liga and will be looking forward to replicating the same in the Premier League. He showed promise during his early days with the Blues and scored a brace during his home debut against Huddersfield Town last Saturday.

The heart of the matter

Gonzalo Higuain found opposition defenders a lot tougher in England but is confident that he can make a big impact at the Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to the journalists, Higuain revealed that,

‘I can see there is a change from the Italian league because here the defenders go into you harder, especially when you receive the ball to feet,’
‘This is a big difference, but I have got a good impression of English football and as I gradually get to know my team-mates it will only get better for me. ‘When I was growing up I watched all of the different leagues, but especially lately you see a lot more of the Premier League so I knew about it before I came here.

He further added,

“I think it’s a very fascinating league and also the way they play here in England — with a lot of dynamism — is really great. The stadiums are full, there’s a great atmosphere, so this is something very nice for the players and in the streets you can go about your day very calmly, very relaxed. You don’t have to worry about many things and this is important for the players because it actually allows you live life like an ordinary person.”

What's next?

Chelsea will play the defending champions, Manchester City during the next weekend and the Argentine will be looking forward to building upon his impressive start with the Blues.
