Goran Pandev backs Mourinho's allegations

Adding to the shocking allegations made by Jose Mourinho, Macedonian skipper Goran Pandev has backed the Portuguese manager and said that the voting system in FIFA Coach of the Year award was rigged.

Mourinho had refused to attend the prestigious gala saying that he did not have the time. He recently revealed that the voting system, that saw Spanish manager Vicente del Bosque winning the Coach of the Year Award, was not legit and lacked transparency.

In a recent interview, Mourinho said “More than one person, two or three people, phoned me to say they’d voted for me and that their vote ended up going to someone else. So I decided not to go.”

The voters include national team coaches, captains and plus invited journalists. Captain of the Macedonian national team and Napoli striker Goran Pandev has come out and said that he is one of the players whose vote was noted down incorrectly.

“I voted for Mourinho as best coach of the year and I am convinced that strange things happened when the votes were counted.” said Pandev. He then went on to say, “According to the Fifa list I voted for Vicente del Bosque, but I voted for Mourinho. I even called him and said I’d vote for him. Unfortunately, odd things happen at Fifa.”

FIFA has denied all claims.
