Have Chelsea identified Rob Green as backup goalkeeper?

Rob Green
Rob Green could replace Petr Cech this summer

Newspaper reports would have you believe that it seems that Jose Mourinho has identified the man he wants to replace Petr Cech if he leaves Chelsea this summer - Rob Green! I have spoken about this previously on my website and I can see him being a perfect replacement but I was wondering what you people think?

Rob Green has just been relegated with QPR and faces life back in the Championship once again. However, Green is 35 now and it will be interesting to see if he is offered the opportunity at Chelsea, if he would refuse.

Thibaut Courtois is well established as our number one and that will be the case for the next decade (hopefully!) so it makes sense for us to bring in someone with experience towards the end of their career alongside one of our younger Goalkeepers.

Rob Green may decide that he wants to remain as a number one at QPR and is up for the fight in the Championship next season. If he does then fair play to him. However, being offered the chance to come and be a part of the Chelsea squad, knowing he would feature in Cup games and if Courtois gets injured, has to be tempting.

These reports state that Chelsea could secure a deal for around £2m. So what do you people think about Rob Green coming to Chelsea? Would he be worth it and a good signing or should we be looking at someone else?
