What's the story?

Juventus winger, Douglas Costa, praised their team's talisman Cristiano Ronaldo but also revealed his fear during the Portuguese superstar's move to Turin, claiming that he thought it would unsettle players at Juventus.

In case you didn't know..

Cristiano Ronaldo arrived at Turin from Real Madrid last summer to boost the chances of the Serie A giants in Europe and the Portuguese talisman portrayed his caliber against Atletico Madrid.

Juventus mounted a sensational comeback in the UEFA Champions League to qualify to the Quarter Finals of the competition. After losing 2-0 to Atletico in the first leg, Cristiano Ronaldo emerged as the savior as the five-time Ballon d'Or winner scored a hat-trick and singlehandedly knocked out Atletico.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has settled very quickly into the club, taking Italian football by storm. With 19 goals and eight assists in the league, the 34-year-old forward remains one of the leading men in the top scorer list and is clearly a crucial reason for Juventus' unbeaten run in the Serie A so far.

The heart of the matter

Douglas Costa has revealed that he feared whether the 34-year-old Portuguese talisman's arrival could unsettle things in Turin, but claimed he was proven wrong as Cristiano settled into the club very quickly.

"Believe it or not but when Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival was being talked about, I asked 'what will the dressing room be like?'" Costa told YouTube channel De Sola as quoted by Goal.
"We all have to love each other as team-mates because we're all looking for a place in the team - but Cristiano won everyone over very quickly.'
"He's a simple, hardworking guy who likes to win. Juventus were looking for a player with his mentality, so he's given us a lot."
"When he arrived. I thought 'the best player in the world has joined, right?'. As soon as he arrived, the club improved in every aspect. His contribution has been noticeable."

What's next?

Juventus will face Genoa next in the Serie A and Ajax in the Quarter Finals of the UEFA Champions League.
