Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-1 in a penalty shootout after their International Champions Cup match ended 2-2.

Stevan Jovetic gave Man City the lead after capitalizing on a Steven Gerrard error inside the box before Jordan Henderson beat Joe Hart to equalize.

Jovetic scored again to give City the lead before a neat first touch by Raheem Sterling and shot gave the Reds a second equalizer.

In the resulting penalty shootout, Simon Mignolet became the hero after denying both Yaya Toure and Jesus Navas to give Liverpool a 3-1 win.
