Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur celebrates after scoring his team's first goal against Chelsea

Chelsea suffered their second loss of the 2014-15 English Premier League season in sensational fashion to a Tottenham Hotspur side inspired by 21-year-old striker Harry Kane.

Diego Costa fired the league toppers ahead against the run of play in the 18th minute, but Harry Kane earned legendary status at White Hart Lane by scoring two and setting up two more to deal an emphatic defeat to Chelsea on the night.

Kane, Danny Rose and Andros Townsend scored to give Spurs a convincing 3-1 lead at half-time. Kane scored again in the 52nd minute to compound Chelsea’s humiliation. Although Eden Hazard’s goal in the second half heralded the possibility of a nervy finish to the match, Nacer Chadli scored in the 78th minute to seal the result.

John Terry scored a late consolation goal, a vital goal to ensure that the Blues stay at first place. They are now tied on 46 points after 20 matches with Manchester City, and the two teams are tied on the same goal difference as well at the top.
