Will Eden Hazard make the switch to the Bernabeu?

Finally, Real Madrid's search for their latest Galactico seems to be nearing an end, and the verdict from Eden Hazard is set to come out in the upcoming days.

No doubt, just like many others, it must be Hazard's dream to play for Los Galacticos. and it definitely is the dream of many fans too to have the player as their own.

But what does Hazard's potential arrival mean for the club?

First of all, one must understand that this is not a like for like replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo be it physicality, finishing, or leadership.

Hazard is a top-notch player but plays a completely different style of game when compared to Ronaldo; he sees the game in a different way. The team with Hazard will be poles apart from the Real Madrid we have seen win 3 consecutive UCLs.

I don't see him contributing as much to the scorecard in terms of goals, because the defences in LaLiga are much more organized, and stick to their lines, unlike the Premier League where aggressive pressing is slowly becoming the mantra for most backlines.

What does his arrival mean for the other players?

Karim Benzema will have a big boost arriving in the form of Hazard. Benzema is not a player who can create opportunities but one who can finish, and at this stage of his career, he loves balls being fed through to him from the flanks, such that he can slot the ball into the net. This is where Hazard will greatly help him, being the menacing threat on the left wing.

Vinicius Jr. will suffer a blow, as Hazard prefers to play on the left wing rather than a central position. Vinicius has shown his potential on the left wing this season, but it is highly unlikely that he will be given the nod over Hazard at his preferred position. He will have to adapt to a more central role, but he is at the right age to do so, and definitely has the potential.

With Hazard taking up the attacking role on the left flank, Marcelo will most likely be asked to step his defensive game, failing which, he might be relegated to the bench. Sergio Reguilon, the young left-back, could be a beneficiary of the same.

Isco, as reports suggest, is already on the verge of leaving, and the arrival of a controlling player like Hazard could be the final nail in the coffin.

Real Madrid on the whole, will definitely benefit, becoming extremely dangerous from both flanks. But already having a budding talent of a similar creative role in the form of Vinicius Jr., do they really need Hazard?

What Real Madrid actually need is a finisher who can convert the created chances into actual results. They still continue to miss the leader in Ronaldo, and more importantly, the aerial threat that the Portuguese provided them with. Hazard's height doesn't really help him in this department.

Additionally, Hazard has a history of inconsistency. He produces a Man of the Match performance in 1 game, but the very next performance could well be sub-par.

Ultimately, it all boils down to how he is used, where he is used, and what is expected of him by the management.
