How Liverpool could line up against Burnley

Manchester City v Liverpool - Premier League
Will Klopp make wholesale changes again?

After winning 2-1 against Leicester, Liverpool take on Burnley at Turf Moor within the next 30 hours. Having pounced on a poor pass from Joel Matip, Leicester took the lead inside two minutes. However, two second-half goals from Mohamed Salah ensured a victory for the Reds. With the Burnley game coming up, Jurgen Klopp has work to do, as he looks to rotate his squad.

Probable Lineup (4-3-3)

With the 'Fab Four' starting yesterday, Klopp will certainly rest at least one of them. Mohamed Salah limped off while being substituted, while Coutinho and Firmino stayed on the pitch longer than Salah and Mane. Loris Karius was given the nod ahead of Mignolet against Leicester, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was rested as well. Keeping this in mind, here's how Liverpool could lineup:

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet

Loris Karius played well last game. However, Mignolet is likely to start against Burnley. When it comes to goalkeepers, Klopp often speaks of the mental tiredness and not just physical fatigue. Adding to that, Klopp mentioned rotation as a reason for starting Karius. Taking this into consideration, Klopp should start Mignolet.

Defence: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dejan Lovren, Ragnar Klavan and Andrew Robertson

With Joe Gomez starting the last game, Alexander-Arnold is expected to return back to the lineup. Scoring his 1st league goal against the Swans, TAA will be high on confidence. In addition to that, Klopp would not risk burning out his younger players.

Dejan Lovren is expected to keep his place after putting in a good shift against Leicester. Ragnar Klavan is expected to start after a cameo appearance against the Foxes last time out.

Despite starting the last six games, expect Robertson to keep his place. With Moreno out injured, Klopp is short on options at the left-back spot. However, James Milner could be another option, and it will be interesting to see whether the manager opts to play Milner on the left instead.

Midfield: James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana

After a decent performance against the Foxes, Milner could start instead of Emre Can. Can could be rested after starting the last 3 games. Despite his limitations, Milner produces reliable performances for the team, putting in a shift till the last minute. Wijnaldum was brought on late yesterday and should start at Turf Moor.

Adam Lallana has barely played few minutes and after sitting out the last game, Klopp could surprisingly give him his 1st start of the season.

Attack: Sadio Mane, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Dominic Solanke

Sadio Mane was subbed off early last game, indicating he'll start against Burnley. Mohamed Salah deserves a rest after his heroics against Leicester. Phillipe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino could be rested after playing a majority of the game, so Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain should start. Dominic Solanke is almost certain to start as well.

If Nathaniel Clyne, Henderson, Moreno and Sturridge were available, Klopp could have easily named a different lineup. However, having learnt from his mistakes last winter, he will certainly rotate his squad heavily, again.
