How Twitter reacted after Manchester United defeated Manchester City in the derby

Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the Manchester derby to lead United to the win

Manchester United defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the derby on Sunday night at the Etihad Stadium. The all-important goal was scored by 18-year-old Marcus Rashford, playing just his fourth Premier League game. The win helped United close the gap on City to just one point in their fight to clinch the fourth and final Champions League qualification spot.

The goal itself scored by Rashford was very well-worked, with the striker taking Juan Mata's through ball in his stride, showing enough of the ball to Martin Demichelis, who took the bait and tried to slide in. However, the United academy product was very smart, taking the ball past the Argentine defender, before sliding a smooth finish past Joe Hart in goal.

Following the match, there were a lot of reactions, especially on social media, as fans of both teams spoke about Rashford's goal, Demichelis’ play, United closing the gap and City's poor performance. Here are the best of the lot –
