Real Madrid celebrate a goal in the UEFA Champions League Final

Real Madrid beat their neighbours Atletico in the <Champions League final4-1 thanks to dramatic late goals from Sergio Ramos, Gareth Bale, Marcelo and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Atletico were just seconds away from lifting their first Champions League trophy but for Ramos’ 93rd minute equaliser. It headed into extra time and Real’s pressure and energy came through and despite his poor 90 minutes, Bale popped up with the all-important goal that gave them the lead.

Marcelo and Ronaldo, from the penalty spot, then added the final two goals to make the scoreline as unreflective of the game as possible.

Here’s how Twitter saw the match.

Disaster strikes… Just 9 minutes in and Diego Costa has to be withdrawn. He’s not fully recovered from his hamstring injury after having horse placenta treatment in the week.

Wonder how many first goalscorer bets have just been ruined.

Think Costa needed unicorn placenta to make it for this game.

Adrian replaced him and didn’t do much in the first half.

Adrian's two touches thus far have been horrific. Watch him slam one in top bin now to even things up.

Atletico’s defence parts like the Red Sea and Gareth Bale surges through…

The neutralisation - thus far - of Ronaldo and Bale by Atleti is remarkable.
