Casemiro was suspended for the second leg of Real Madrid's Round of 16 tie against Atalanta. He will return to the side and play in defensive midfield. Casemiro's ability to destroy attacks will be crucial to Real Madrid holding their ground tomorrow.

Toni Kroos is expected to be partnered with Luka Modric in central midfield. It is their tried and tested partnership that Zinedine Zidane is expected to go with. There has perhaps been no midfield partnership that has been as successful in the UEFA Champions League over the past decade as these two.

Kroos was a doubt for the game against Eibar over the weekend but he came off the bench and is expected to be fit to start.

Luka Modric was excellent for Real Madrid in the month leading to the most recent international break and clocked three assists across six games from central midfield. Zidane will be urging him to deliver more of the same as they take on Liverpool.

Zinedine Zidane is a huge fan of Marco Asensio and the Spaniard has been in excellent form of late. Asensio has scored in each of Real Madrid's last three matches and that's the kind of form Zizou will want his main men to be bringing into a game that's as high-profile as this one is. He should start as the right winger.

Karim Benzema has been absolutely sensational for Real Madrid of late. He has nine goals and an assist to his name from his last seven appearances. He has scored in all of his last seven games for Real Madrid and there is no doubt he will be leading the charge against Liverpool on Tuesday.

Real Madrid will be wary of the fact that Liverpool's new centre-back pairing of Ozan Kabak and Nat Phillips are still settling down. They will want to hit them when they're vulnerable and will rely on the pace and trickery of Vinicius Jr.

Deploying a zippy Vinicius Jr. down the left flank will cause Trent Alexander-Arnold to be occupied in the defensive half provided Real Madrid can keep possession. Alexander-Arnold's defensive capabilities have looked suspect on occasion and he will need to be on top of his game to keep Vinicius Jr. at bay.

Real Madrid have scored eight goals in their last three matches and have conceded just two. In fact, it has been eleven games since any team scored more than a goal against Zinedine Zidane's men. They should feel confident about their chances going into this game against Liverpool.
