Andre Schurrle has put all the speculations, about his move away from Chelsea in the January transfer window, to rest by stating that he is looking for a long-term fututre with the Blues. The 24-year-old has not been able to find a first-team start this season but scored in the mid-week after starting for the first time in five weeks against Sporting Lisbon.
Belong in London and am not going anywhere
Schurrle was not finding favour to be in the first eleven in the past few weeks because of a mystery illness or a dip in form. This fueled speculations of the German international being sold off in exchange of Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus .
It is reported that Schurrle has revealed to Standard Sport about the false rumours and about his life with current Premier League leaders.
"Of course I can just laugh all the talk of leaving off. I am not going to change the club in the transfer window.
"I am happy where I am, I am happy in London. I love the city, I love the fans. We have a great team and want to win something this season. This is where I belong and where I want to help. I know what the manager wants for me and that he likes me." He explained.
Don’t fear anyone, we can beat them all
In the UEFA Champions League, Chelsea confirmed their berth in the last 16 by remaining unbeaten in their group with 14 points. Jose Mourinho’s side could face a tough draw in the knockout phase, with PSG, Juventus, Schalke 04, Shakhtar Donetsk or Bayer Leverkusen are to be the possible opponents.
The former Bayern Leverkusen man is confident of his team’s chances in the elite tournament and feels that Chelsea has all the strenght and depth to beat anyone.
"We can rotate and make changes and we still have so much quality on the pitch. We have a big squad - that's what we need for our four goals (of winning four competitions).
"We don't fear anybody. If we play our best we can beat everyone."
