What's the story?

Real Madrid star Keylor Navas has claimed that despite having a contract with the club, he will leave if the coach wants him to.

In case you didn't know...

Real Madrid's abysmal season continued as they suffered yet another defeat in LaLiga against Valencia. The Spanish giants endured their ninth defeat in the current campaign, while new managed Zinedine Zidane suffered his first loss in his second stint with the club.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas was clearly not the first choice goalkeeper after the arrival of Thibaut Courtois in the past nine months. Zidane used Keylor Navas twice in the three matches after his arrival but Navas had another poor outing against Valencia last night.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos are now five points behind Atlético Madrid and 13 points behind leaders Barcelona.

As a result of the ongoing poor campaign, the Spanish giants are reportedly desperate to revamp the squad with new faces, which will cause numerous stars leaving the club.

The heart of the matter

In the post-match interview, Navas claimed that he will leave the club if the coach wants him to.

"If the coach tells me to go, that's what I'm going to do. But I have a contract and my present is at Real Madrid." said Navas.
"I will always try to give my best and convince the coach that I should play, I have a contract and I want to be here, but let's see what happens. Let's focus on finishing the season well."
"We have to, for the honour of the badge, go out and win the remaining [eight] matches."

But the 32-year-old admitted that things have not gone in their way this season.

"It's a difficult time. It's been a year that has not gone as we had hoped [prior to the season starting] but we must face up to it." added Navas.
"We must face this moment and hopefully that will help us to learn from all the mistakes we have made this year so that we can enjoy what this club deserves in the next few years."

What's next?

Real Madrid have very little to play for in the current campaign and will take on Eibar in the coming weekend.
