A charity event was held at the Manolo Santana Stadium on Friday with the motive to raise funds for charity.

Tennis world no.1 Rafael Nadal and Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas were the hosts of the event which was attended by athletes like Andy Murray, Serena Williams, Agnieszka Radwanska, Carlos Moya, Feliciano Lopez, Atletico Madrid keeper Thibaut Courtois, among many other celebrities.

All of the profits from the ticket sales, boxes and the gala dinner is said to go to Nadal’s foundation ‘Integration and Sport’ and the Real Madrid Foundation and the Iker Casillas Foundation called ‘Inclusive Sport for Children of Different Abilities’ programme.’

Nadal told reporters, “I’m really thankful to everyone who made the effort to be here to support us. Hopefully everyone had a good time at this event, which in the end raised some money for [our] foundations – money that will help us to continue our work with children in need.”

The Rafael Nadal Foundation was created in 2008 to offer education programmes to children and young people in Spain and India.
