ISL 2017/18 : Who Said What after Chennaiyin beat Bengaluru to lift ISL trophy

Enter
Mailson Alves' brace proved to be the difference in the final

Chennaiyin FC registered a splendid 3-2 victory over Bengaluru FC in the final of the Indian Super League on Saturday.

A brace by the defender Mailson Alves and a special goal by Raphael Augusto settled the encounter as Miku and Sunil's goal's weren't enough.

This is their second ISL trophy since the inception of the tournament and it's safe to say the southern outfit have cemented themselves as giants of the game in Indian football.

Despite being under tremendous pressure in the opening minutes, John Gregory's men never lost their cool and held their nerves in front of a hostile Bengaluru crowd.

Chhetri and co. consistently threatened Chennai but when it mattered most, they crumbled. Overall it was a quality match between two well-contested teams who put on a show. On that note, let's take a look at who said what after the historic final.

Mailson Alves

First time in my life, I am very happy, we showed good attitude and good concentration. Thank you! See you yeah? See you. Chennai champions again! I am very happy, I will enjoy!.

Albert Roca

Well first of all congratulations to Chennai. I am really sad, we would have liked to give the win to the fans, they deserved it. We will never give up! It's a shame, the way we played, it was really good. These kind of things can happen, it was not our day. We have rarely conceded from set pieces. That is football but we will recover from this.

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu

It was an unexpected result for us, I didn't care much about the golden glove. Subarata deserved it. I want to say thank you to the fans, I also want to congratulate Chennaiyin for the win but I believe we won the league. We are the champions!
