#3 Kylian Mbappe steps up for Paris St. Germain away from home

Kylian Mbappe has made 17 away UEFA Champions League appearances for AS Monaco and Paris St. Germain. He has been involved in 22 games (13 goals, 9 assists) during this period.

It's a testament to the young superstar's mental toughness, especially after he faced questions with his display against Manchester United last week, that he could come up with an impressive showing against Istanbul Basaksehir.

Mbappe was brilliant in his cameo against Dijon last weekend. While he was a bit quiet in the opening hour in Istanbul, the Frenchman began to dictate terms once Paris St. Germain went ahead. With Neymar out injured, the onus is now on Mbappe's young shoulders to carry the team through a potentially tricky period.

However, for a player who has 146 goal involvements (96 goals, 50 assists) in 131 games for Paris St. Germain in all competitions, the 21-year-old is likely to rise up to the occasion.

#2 Moise Kean looks like a player reborn

There was plenty of cautious optimism when Moise Kean scored a brace against Dijon last weekend. That was because the Italian youngster looked quite unlike the timid, ungainly youngster who turned up for Everton last year.

The forward now has four goals in as many games for Paris St. Germain- the same tally of goals he scored for Everton in 37 appearances.

Kean turned in a striker's performance against Basaksehir. He wasn't too involved in the forward play but stuck the ball into the net when it mattered. His second goal was excellently taken and was quite reminiscent of the talented youngster who broke through for Juventus. One would hope that he can keep up his scoring run.

#1 Paris St. Germain are not out of the woods yet

Paris St. Germain manager Thomas Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel would be the first to admit that Paris St. Germain were a bit fortunate to walk away from the game with all three points. While the Parisians did not deserve to lose, neither did their opposition, who successfully shackled their much-lauded opponents for the better part of an hour.

Paris St. Germain now face a tough run of fixtures in a tightly-packed schedule. With injuries continuing to take centre-stage, Tuchel has his hands full.

Kean and Mbappe stepped up against Basaksehir, but there may be nights when that may not happen. Both Manchester United and RB Leipzig are more formidable opponents than modest Istanbul Basaksehir. In that perspective, a rather fortuitous win away at Basaksehir does not necessarily mean that things are rosy for PSG..
