Jose Bosingwa: No hard feelings towards QPR

Bosingwa has thanked QPR following the “extremely difficult” season and wished them well for the future.

The 30-year-old Portugal defender has had a tumultous time in the recent months, clashing with none other than manager Harry Redknapp and was booed by the club fans following his transfer to Loftus Road from Chelsea.

A Champions League winner at both Porto and Chelsea, his nadir was when he refused to be a substitute in the game against Fulham. Due to this his commitment to the club vis-a-vis his income came under question.

He now looks forward to the three-year deal with Trabzonspor as a free agent after having cancelled the remaining two years of his contract with QPR. He chose to maintain a dignified response following his acrimonious stay with QPR.

“As it’s now known that I have parted ways with QPR by mutual agreement, I would like to thank (chairman) Tony Fernandes, my team-mates, all the staff at QPR and, in particular, the fans that supported the team last season through extremely difficult times,” Bosingwa said.

“In my career I have won 16 honours. I was impressed by the project presented to me by QPR and gave my best to bring to the club the winning mentality and success I had enjoyed at both clubs I previously represented. I would like to wish the very best to QPR and I now look forward to my new challenge with Trabzonspor.”
