Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Chelsea. Just seven months after the winning the Premier League title, Chelsea have confirmed that they have ‘parted company’ with the Portuguese manager. The club are languishing in 16th place in the Premier League table, following their 2-1 loss away to Leicester.
In a club statement on their official website, Chelsea said, “Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho have today parted company by mutual consent.” “All at Chelsea thank Jose for his immense contribution since he returned as manager in the summer of 2013. But both Jose and the board agreed results have not been good enough this season and believe it is in the best interests of both parties to go our separate ways.”

Following their loss to Leicester, Mourinho's managerial role faced increased speculation, with reports emerging that Juande Ramos was in line to take his job.
