Mourinho: Juan Cuadrado will need time to settle at Stamford Bridge

Mourinho feels Juan Cuadrado still needs some time to find his legs at Stamford Bridge

Juan Cuadrado the highly rated Colombian midfielder still needs time to settle down at Chelsea according to Jose Mourinho. The player is yet made any significant contribution for the Blues after 4 games. The 26-year old midfielder was brought by Chelsea this January from Italian side Fiorentina for £23.3m on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

The Colombian midfielder caught international attention in his two-and-a-half-year spell at Fiorentina where he was one of their key players. The brilliant display he put up at the 2014 FIFA World Cup only speed up his inevitable departure.

Jose Mourinho who is certain Cuadrado will prove his worth given enough time, had the following to say about him "He is adapting, He needs to adapt in everything.”

"The pace of the game, in Italy it's completely different. The intensity is much higher [here], it is different to play at the intensity we play – especially for 90 minutes."

"At Fiorentina he was playing as a wide player; here he has to go to areas where he's not adapted to it," he noted. "I truly believe we are not seeing the player we know we have because the kid needs to adapt."
