Juventus are willing to trade Douglas Costa for Toby Alderweireld's services, according to a report from Italy. The Old Lady have been in the hunt for a fresh and reliable defender to serve as a replacement for their aging defense.

Their star center backs such as Andrea Barzagli, Giorgio Chiellini, and Leonardo Bonucci are all above 30. Hence, Juventus see Spurs' experienced defender as a suitable replacement. The Belgian has been known as one of the best defenders in the Premier League for a while now.

The 30-year-old is yet to extended his contract at the English outfit and forced Tottenham to trigger his one-year extension option. Costa, on the other hand, has seen his career plagued by injuries and inconsistent performances at Juventus.

The Brazilian has also been a long time target for Manchester United but Juventus would be more interested in selling the player to Mauricio Pochettino's side due to their interest for Alderweireld.
