Kaka refuses to blame Jose Mourinho for Real Madrid failure

Brazilian midfielder Kaka has stated that he does not blame Jose Mourinho for his disappointing time at Real Madrid.

The player was re-signed on a free transfer by his former club AC Milan after spending four disappointing years at the Bernabeu, the Daily Mail reports.

The 31-year-old did not do justice to his £59 million transfer fee in spite of being a part of the squad that won the the La Liga last year. Kaka made less than 100 appearances during his four year tenure at the club.

The 2007 World Player Of The Year is held in the highest regard by the Milan club, who he helped win the Serie A in 2004 and the Champions League in 2007. The player was met with a stellar reception at the Milan airport just as he touched down from Madrid.

‘It’s really nice to be back,’ he told a press conference.

‘Yesterday my wife and I were thinking about the day when we first came here, in totally different circumstances, but the good feelings are exactly the same.

‘Seeing all the people at Milanello again made me feel like I’d never been away.

‘I’ve learned a lot from players with more experience than me and now it’s up to me to take on the role of an expert.

‘I don’t know how many more seasons I will last but I want to help these guys out and learn from them as well.’

The Brazil international was rarely used by Mourinho, who preferred Luka Modric and Mesut Ozil in his position. The signings of Isco and Gareth Bale convinced the player that a move away from the Spanish giants would be in his best interest.

He added: ‘It wasn’t Mourinho’s fault that I didn’t get to play. I tried to earn his confidence over the years but he just had other ideas.

‘I always worked hard for him, but it’s not his fault. It’s the fact I never had any continuity during my four years with Real Madrid.

‘Real have some very specific plans for the team and the space afforded to me was growing smaller and smaller, so I agreed my departure with Ancelotti.

‘Real are a great club and I’m happy to have been part of their history but I lost the joy of playing football a bit there.

‘I think this is the right place for me.’

Kaka will be pressed straight into first team action filling the role left by Kevin-Prince Boateng.

The player is raring to play along side Mario Balotelli, who is a big hit at the San Siro, finding the back of the net 14 times since joining the Italian club in January from Manchester City.

‘I think Mario’s a great player and I think I can do well alongside him, and with (Alessandro) Matri, Robinho and (Stephan) El Shaarawy,’ Kaka added.

‘There are some great players here and some really good strikers.

‘I haven’t been injured for a long time, I’m in good shape and ready for this challenge.

‘I’m used to Milan winning things and I think this team can do well.’

The player netted 70 goals for the Rossoneri during his first stint at the club.
