Kylian Mbappe is named the most valuable player, according to CIES Football Observatory. Tottenham striker Harry Kane and PSG forward Neymar are ranked second and third respectively in the list of big-5 league players with the highest transfer value according to the exclusive CIES Football Observatory algorithm.

The CIES Football Observatory is a research group within the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), an independent study center located in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
CIES determines the valuation considering through its 'exclusive algorithm' based on a number of factors which include age, results, position, and the league.

Barcelona's No.10 Lionel Messi is ranked seventh in the list of most valuable players. Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Juventus in the summer, was ranked 19th in the list. Surprisingly, Manchester City's Raheem Sterling was ranked fourth.
Shockingly, not a single player from Real Madrid was ranked in the top 20.
