LaLiga announce partnership with Chinese Super League

LaLiga have struck a partnership with Chinese Super League to help develop football in China. The collaboration will also see the clubs in the leagues involved and help in the development of grassroots football.

A statement in LaLiga's website stated: “La Liga will support the Chinese Super League in issues related to safety and integrity, brand creation and expansion, training and development of grassroots football and match broadcasting.”

La Liga president Javier Tebas said, “The agreement presented today and signed in January is just another step forward in the cooperation that La Liga and the Chinese Super League have been building in recent years. We are convinced that by following this path and being patient the CSL will be among the five or six top leagues in the world within years,” Tebas said.

Adding to the statement by Tebas, Li Yuyi, the president of the Chinese Super League, said: “The CSL has in La Liga a partner with which to cooperate and keep growing. Football development is a common goal for both competitions and LaLiga’s experience and knowledge will be truly valuable in reaching this goal.”

Real Madrid agree stunning deal for Christian Eriksen

Real Madrid have made a breakthrough in their chase of Christian Eriksen and have all but sealed the deal too. Los Blancos have been chasing him for a few months now and have finally managed to agree a deal with him and Tottenham Hotspur.

Reports in Spain suggest that Spurs were keen on keeping hold of the Danish midfielder but Blancos' offer of €80M and Gareth Bale was too good to reject. Eriksen's contract is also set to expire soon and with a new deal not yet signed, Spurs have reportedly decided to cash in on him.

Barcelona eye Xavi as Valverde's replacement

Barcelona fans were furious when the club extended Ernesto Valverde's contract last month. They are keen on seeing the manager replaced and reports in Spain suggest that the Catalan side do have a replacement in mind.

Pep Guardiola succeeded at the club after getting the managerial role and now, the Catalan side are set to take a similar risk with Xavi Hernandez. The Barcelona legend is the #1 choice for the board when they decide to part ways with Valverde.
