Serie A is all set to witness its second Derby della Capitale of the season as Lazio host AS Roma in a crucial league match that could determine both the team's hopes of qualifying to the Champions League next season.

The Derby della Capitale is one of the fiercest rivalries of all time in the World of Football and arguably the greatest in the history of Italian football.

Lazio had a torrid two weeks starting with their defeat to Seville in the round of 32 of the Europa League.

This was followed by another defeat against Genoa that saw the Biancocelesti falling six points behind the fourth-placed AC Milan. The poor run of results continued with another defeat against Sevilla in the second leg of the Europa league.

The week rounded out with a much improved goalless draw against AC Milan at the Stadio Olimpico. With a game in hand, Lazio can reduce their gap to the Rossoneri by just three points with a win against their arch-rivals.

After a recent slump in form, the Giallorossi find themselves in top form at the right moment with a four-match winning streak. The run has seen them reduce the gap to third-placed Inter Milan by just three points.

A win against their arch-rivals can see the Giallorossi leapfrogging the Rossoneri and moving onto the fourth position in the Serie A table tie on points with the Nerazzurri.

The first Derby della Capitale ended in a 3-1 victory for the Giallorossi.
