Leicester City have made tremendous gains under Brendan Rodgers and were unlucky to have missed out on Champions League qualification last season after a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on the final day of the campaign.

That loss condemned them the Foxes to Europa League football but the 2016 champions have grown from that setback and are currently on an upward trajectory.

This season, Leicester City have already picked up impressive victories against Manchester City, Arsenal, and Tottenham and have followed that up with a 2-2 draw against the Red Devils.

They showed great determination and spirit to twice come from behind to level matters ,and on the evidence of their showing here, Leicester City are definite contenders for a top-four finish.

#2 Marcus Rashford celebrates landmark goal for Manchester United

Marcus Rashford started the game on a poor note when he inexplicably headed over from six yards after Fernandes had found him with a cross inside 71 seconds.

He, however, made amends for that by scoring the opener with a well-taken goal in the 23rd minute.

The goal meant that Manchester United scored the first goal in an away Premier League game for the first time since July 26 (also against Leicester City) and it also put him into the record books.

This was Rashford's 50th Premier League goal and at 23 years and 56 days, he is only behind Wayne Rooney (22 years, 157 days), and Cristiano Ronaldo (22 years, 341 days) as the youngest players to score a half century of PL goals for the Red Devils.

He is the 11th player in the history of Manchester United to score 50 Premier League goals for the club and fans of the Mancunians would hope that it is the first 50 of many to come.

#1 Bruno Fernandes continues talismanic performance for Red Devils

Bruno Fernandes' incredible performance in his first season at Manchester United saw him named the club's Player of the Year, despite only playing for six months.

The Portugal international has continued from where he left off this season and is acting as the driving force behind the club's recent ascent.

Despite losing possession more times than anybody else against Leicester, the 26-year-old created several chances for his teammates, with the first coming inside the first two minutes.

His second-half strike means that he has score 10 goals this season, making him the first Portuguese to reach this figure since Cristiano Ronaldo, while his assist means that he has been involved in 31 of the club's 59 Premier League debut since his debut.

This is an incredible return from the former Sporting Lisbon man and not since the legendary Eric Cantona has one player had such an instant impact on the fortune of the Red Devils.

With Bruno Fernandes in this form, Manchester United would fancy their chances of rising back to the summit.
