Lewandowski denies Bayern Munich deal, speaks of playing in Premier League

Poland striker Robert Lewandowski has attempted to dispel rumours that he has already agreed a summer move from Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich, before admitting that he still harbours dreams of playing in the Premier League. The striker lines up against England at Wembley tomorrow and told the Telegraph that he could still move to the Premier League.

Lewandowski is out of contract at Dortmund in the summer, and can sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January. Despite this, the Pole insists that he does not know where his future lies, amidst claims that he had already agreed to join Dortmund’s Champions League final conquerors.

“I will be able to sign a contract [with any club] in January, but I have never said that I will sign a contract with Bayern. It was a misunderstanding.”

Seemingly set to leave Dortmund, Lewandowski has been linked with moves to England in the past, having held talks with both Blackburn and Manchester United in recent years. The Pole chose Dortmund over Blackburn in 2010, saying: “There was a proposal from Blackburn. I even spoke with the former manager. In the end, I decided that Dortmund gave me a better chance of development as a footballer.”

More recently, Lewandowski has been linked with a big money move to Manchester United. He admitted meeting with former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, and left the door open for a move to England.

“It is true I had an opportunity to speak with Sir Alex Ferguson [last year], but we didn’t mention the transfer. One day I would like to play in Premier League. It would be a great experience.”

Borussia Dortmund fans have had to wait an extra 48 seconds per Lewandowski goal this season. He scored every 108 minutes and 2 seconds last term, but is finding the back of the net every 108 minutes and 50 seconds so far in this campaign.
