Paris, Jan 12 French football club Lyon took over the top spot of Ligue 1 from first-half front-runners Marseille with a 3-0 home win over Toulouse FC.

Alexandre Lacazette added another double to his total of 19 goals to lead the league's scoring charts, before Nabil Fekir sealed the victory at three marks at the start of the second half, reports Xinhua.

Hubert Fournier's side needed just 13 minutes to stamp the authority at the Stade de Gerland in Lyon, as Lacazette received a perfect cross from Fekir and despatched a low volley past Ali Ahamada.

It was just before the half-hour mark when Lacazette fired a Corentin Tolisso cross powerfully beyond Ahamada.

Two minutes after break, Fekir sent a right-footed shot into Toulouse's net after being freed by the visitors' Rachid Ghezzal.

With the victory, the seven-time champions were lifted a point ahead of Marseille, who went down 1-2 at Montpellier Friday, while Toulouse were leaving just one point above the relegation zone.

Elsewhere Sunday, lowly Metz stopped Nantes' two-match winning run as they recorded a goalless draw at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

The away tie also prevented Metz from committing their seventh Ligue 1 game defeat in straight and moved them out of the drop zone at Evian's expense.

In the last 20th round match-up late Sunday night, last season's runners-up Monaco were held 0-0 by visiting Bordeaux, who continue to trail the fifth-placed club by one point.
