Liverpool are defending Champions League and UEFA Super Cup winners, while they also pushed a rampant Manchester City all the way in what was a tight Premier League race last season.

The Reds have been on an upward trajectory since being taken over by Jurgen Klopp, and with all due respect to Arsenal, they are not really on the same level at the moment.

This much was evident throughout the course of the game, as Liverpool dominated proceedings from the get-go, and led the way in virtually every aspect of the game.

Arsenal's total of nine shots paled in comparison to Liverpool's unbelievable total of 25 shots, with five of those being on target to Arsenal's three.

Liverpool made 548 passes to Arsenal's 496, although the visitors had slightly better accuracy with 86% to Liverpool's 85%.

More often than not, the better side in a football match usually goes on to win, and with Liverpool having dominated Arsenal for most of the game, they were good value for their victory.
