#3 Hit: Joel Matip
Joel Matip was chosen to partner Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the defense and the Cameroonian centre-half made defining contributions in both ends of the pitch.
Matip was one of the standout players as the Reds strolled to another victory in the Premier League. The 28-year-old put in an assured performance at the back and broke the deadlock shortly before the half-time whistle.
Trent Alexander-Arnold's brilliant corner was met by the former Schalke man for the opening goal of the game. Matip rose highest to register a thumping header past Bernd Leno's despairing dive, allowing Liverpool to take initiative of the game.
Added to his goal, Matip looked imperious at the back and although Torreira's late goal prevented the Reds from registering a clean sheet, his performance was commendable, to say the least.
Matip's brilliant early season form makes him an important member of the squad as Liverpool look to compete on all fronts this season.
